- Collaborate with the Data function to support data pipelines through use of NLP techniques
- Design, develop and validate models to recognise entities and their mappings to JATO’s internal data in a variety of contexts
- Extend current approaches to treat image and text data
- Assist with the deployment and monitoring of the developed solutions
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both when capturing the problem and when presenting results
- Successfully work within the Data Science team to share best practices, expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm
- Work with other areas in the company to collectively create meaningful data visualisations and analyses
- Stay up to date with technology trends
- Advanced degree in data science, applied statistics, machine learning, mathematics or relevant field
- 5-10 years of professional experience working on a Data Science or related discipline team
- Previous experience with natural language processing techniques and models (e.g. transfer learning, ..)
- Experience with deployment of data science solutions
- Independent proficiency in the data science process including data cleansing, data validation, data modeling, model evaluation, visualization of insights, and a strong sense of identifying the right questions to ask of the data
- Passionate about empirical research and answering hard questions with data
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases
- Previous experience and proficiency using Python/R
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
- Proactive and problem-solving mindset working indepedently to deliver value
- Fluent in English
- Preferred
- Experience with cloud technologies, in particular Azure
- Experience with the Databricks environment
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g/ Tableau, Power BI, Qlik)
